Mystic Mondays: Africa Magic Group

By now if you’re following Dreamville on Twitter (@wearedreamville) you must be wondering what the buzz of this AMG group is all about huh? If yes, then you’re at the right place for more information, if not? then yes you’re still in the right place.

Basically the Africa Magic Group is a family of African Artists from different fields who posses ambition, vision and crazy work ethic. Africa Magic Group wants to unite Africa and take it to the world as a full package whom speaks one language, music.  All we want is to help put every individuals’ material out there, through the power of numbers, it will be very easy. Everyone will be covered, from rappers/singers, deejays, radio presenters, graphic artists e.t.c. And why bother? Because i’m sure am not the only one who has seen the diversity Africa has got to offer, be it in terms of music, food, the people, countries and so much more. Now imagine this wrapped and offered to the whole wide world? Beautiful, beautiful isn’t it?

Africa Magic Group’s foundation will be of loyalty and support in this family, we are not here to ride on each others fame, but rather build one another’s name. It’s called constructive co-habitation.It would be an honour if we had members from all the 54 countries on AFRICA,

If you have a friend from another country who deserves to be here, please bring them on board. Like stated earlier, this is a family, not a record label so we really don’t want to infringe on the rights of signed artists. Do let your label know that what you are part of, is strictly for marketing your brand and widening your fan base, only through unity will we stand a chance to enlighten the world that there are very great artists from Africa. So let’s do this!!

To show support please like Africa Magic’s Group page on facebook https://www.facebook.com/AfricaMagicGroup

Mystic Mondays: Handle your liquor!!

From the title you already know what am headed to.

Ever gone to the club and the party’s not yet even started and yet you start to see guys and even surprisingly ladies!! blacked out on the floor? it’s not like they’ve got some sort of medical condition but its because of drinking too much alcohol, beer, vodka, Syrup, you name it.

Not that am stereotyping or anything but this has become consistent especially with ladies!! Now am not pointing all my fingers at ladies here but am just saying, i mean seeing a lady passed out on the floor is not a good sight, moreover, if she’s wearing  that “dress” or them tight jeans and exposing top of you know what, makes it even worse because there always people in the club who want to steal or even take advantage of you and especially in that situation of passing out and not knowing what is happening to you. (By the way am talking of grown ladies as in adults here about the age of 23, yes imagine!)

Gents, you guys aren’t innocent in this field either. Now i know before you get to the club y’all always have that plan on going “HAM” and these plans lead to fights in the club and probably ending up in hospital for high concentrated alcohol levels or even passing out! Don’t get me wrong am not saying you shouldn’t have fun am just saying that you should be able to handle you liquor and if you can’t then 1, 2, 3 should be enough for you.

Last but not least, i have never know the reason behind why teenagers pass out too because of drinking too much. I as a teenager don’t drink when i go out because i go knowing that the same way i left home and the way my mum saw me is the same way i should return and not otherwise.

REMEMBER: You don’t have to drink excessive to have fun, if you do then its time to change your party buddies, Honestly.

Mystic Mondays: Dedicate to Dedication.

*Story time :D

As i was heading to the Multi-media university in Rongai (which is quite a far place from where i live) i kept on wondering to myself, except from wanting to achieve my dream of music together with R.h, Webb and Ms.E.Y, why am i doing this? I mean waking up at 7.00 in the morning on a Saturday and quickly munching my breakfast while at the same time am dressing up? instead of sleeping upto 12.00noon and going out with friends to end my Saturday then something hit me! Dedication!!..that’s what it is. DEDICATION.

If it weren’t for dedication i personally think that Dreamville would not be as strong in terms of foundation and connection as it is right now, worse still exist. Most people get shocked to hear that we don’t live next to each other, honestly, we live way far from each other but the dedication that we have shall not let distance or anything for that matter be an obstacle to Dreamville as a crew and from us achieving our dream together.

You, yes you! i know i may be young to tell you this but in everything you do, if there’s no dedication it would be as good as useless, moreover, if God did not put dedication to make sure that we exist we wouldn’t even be living. Don’t believe me? God had so much dedication to humanity that he sacrificed his own son!

Now am sure i have convinced you enough? Right?

“Dedication naturally produces talent. Sadly natural talent does not produce dedication”

Crazy Furahi Days: Success.

Success webbI just wanna be, I just wanna be successful. This happens to be the sound on every individuals mind at any given time.It all begins with your mind, which is the greatest asset and capital you have.Sometimes we feel like success is just a call a way, only to realize when truth comes to reality how wide the margin is between we and success, as RH puts it in their motivational song Just Try,http://soundcloud.com/dmtville/jus-try-dream-ville-x-ronmixa, that ”I knocked at the door but success was a sleep”. That’s how we feel at times, like we took the wrong turn.Success is the direct opposite of failure, a fact that no being would rather associate with.Adjacently, let’s all admit we can’t be successful all at once.It takes a while just as RH clarifies it in Dr3am Ville’s song Breakthru‘. So what then determines how successful we become?Cause I believe when God created man he entitled him to it? I’ll give you a little secret, it’s the little progresses we make that sum up to success, and it comes to those who work their ass off and never give up, trust me we learn the hard way.

Look at most of the world’s re known successful people, study their lifestyles, what is it that they do in order to get and maintain their standards, that should be our guideline. Those already achieving success do so because they’ve learnt to utilize certain skills that we too can learn and use. They’re always accountable, bold, consistent and disciplined.According to my own understanding, it’s not so much  about planning anymore, but about taking risks. The most persuasive argument is that people taking risks or chances are more likely to succeed than the others. Risks or chances are not questions that people who disagree the point can shrug off lightly. With the advent of advanced international communication, you will face a great number of opportunities  by which the traditional careful planning is threatened. The difference between the two opinions is courage to challenge yourself. Actually, the only one step in the gap is not boundly conquered at all.In most cases, this prevents many cowards from succeeding at last. People being short of bravery, if they are prepared to admit it could learn one or two from the brave ones who actually not only have courage but also are wise and confident. One of the biggest lessons we should learn is  how to plunk up our courage. Continue reading

Hello? How are you? Been good? How has your day/night been? Superb? Dull? You look upset, what’s the matter?

By now you must be wondering, why so many questions of concern? Shouldn’t people mind their own business? Maswali ya polisi nayo? (Simply means the many questions police seem to ask when they stop you)

Well to answer all your questions which are wondering about in your mind I’ll simply say I asked those questions because I care about YOU! Yes, even though I don’t know you I actually care for you don’t believe?  In an orphanage most of the staff don’t know the children well but they still show love and care towards them, convinced? I too know you care for me because you actually take time off your tight busy schedules to actually read my Mystic Mondays posts. Besides you never really know what you got until its gone, right?  Continue reading

Crazy Furahi Days: Promise.

After along Easter holiday over the weekend, I bet you’ve finally adjusted and adapted to the normal pressure from your jobs’ demands.Let’s therefore usher inn this weekend in a style with great mood.We at the Ville promised to keep your digestion easier and on point by serving to you great stuff to feed on.From Mystic Mondays to Mizizi Tuesdays, Wild Wednesdays to Spotlight Thursdays, and of cause we never fail to rap it up with Crazy Furahi Days. That’s just how much the Ville can keep to their promise, giving you the opportunity of getting the first hand touch of their music, by simply visiting http://www.souncloud.com/dmtville or http://www.mdundo.com/dr3amville.

Good morning class again?Yes today we are going to talk about ”Promise”. A seven letter word, easy to spell as easy to pronounce. It’s like a covenant, yes, the simplest way to gain trust. It’s an ancient word way back  from the time of the Israelites and God, the book of exodus has it all.The term promise has been used, over used and misused too in different occasions, reason?Just to get that one thing that we badly need at the moment.Truth then befall us when we realize later on that we had bitten more than we could certainly chew.Misunderstandings and disappointments then follow, reason? We failed to keep to our words, and wherever there’s mistrust, business definitely halts. The only promise I’ve managed to keep is that I made to my mommy that even though I’m crazy, I will always be an obedient child.I equally enjoy that beautiful and lovely scene at the altar when couples make lifetime promises. Some however never last as we learn sooner than we anticipated. We must agree then that promises have to be made in order for relationships first to exist, then to last.Personally as crazy as I am always, I hate commitments in relationships, thus I avoid always  being confined within a situation where promises are the next alternative remedy.Nothing hurts like living in denial so I would rather run, I mean walk a way from apparent possible future troubles, than to stay and die softly. The only thing that freely enjoys my devotion is my music, this’ just how much my selfishness does it. Spotlight Thursday : New Music.

dream chase finnaEver heard about about Dream Ville? Better yet, ever heard of Dr3am Ville Music? Well, we are that multi-genre group that is keeping Africa on the move towards the right direction, one step at a time. Because we believe that our Motherland is just as beautiful and amazing like any other continent if not better :D . We have been working on our mixtape YNS (styled #YearNoSleep ) and the second single off it just dropped this morning. Like we said in an earlier post yesterday, its an anthem for all the dream chasers out there.

This song means alot to us because we actually expressed the real struggles we go through daily in this industry and our life too. Its not just a song, its a testimony. Listen to AyenzaMse preach on verse 1, R.H going all philosophical in the second verse and Crazzy Webb giving that ray of hope in the last verse. Not to forget the beautiful voice that is lacing up the chorus. Oooh, let me not spoil everything just yet. Please press play and if you are truly motivated, give us a feedback in the comment section.

Keep on moving, you can’t back down. YES. I AM A DREAMER :D

Wild Wednesdays : Dream Chase.

Yes boss! Who really knew Wednesday would reach this fast? For some strange reasons, I always look forward to each and every Wednesday and the anticipation becomes greater with each passing week. Maybe y’all are infectious? Oh well, time will tell lol. So I am here randomly pressing this dusty keyboard of mine with nothing meaningful on my mind, but since I couldn’t let this opportunity pass by without saying hi to y’all, I therefore keep typing. Sometimes I wish we could all just gather in one big ballroom (coz we are so many for my mom’s single room yo) and share a cup of coffee or better yet puff sheesha :) . Sounds like a good idea, uh? Anyway, forgive my randomness, I’m just trying to build a rapport and catch up from where we left. Plus you know me, I always keep it a hundred percent real with y’all. That’s how family is supposed to be.

Now that we are all on the same level, lets get talking.  Picture this, it’s 10.00 pm in Nairobi and the weather is daringly cold. Mommy is cooking that aromatic African dish, unfortunately I won’t divulge much information about the meal since y’all may take the next jet to our home lol. Just know its delicious and time after time I have to pause t…….t…typing so I can throw a glance her direction to confirm if its ready! Funnily, my mind soon drifts away from all that is cooking and my hunger pangs go numb. Reason why, I’m deeply engrossed in thoughts and calculative ideas of how I’m gonna  catch this dreams I’ve been chasing. Now that’s not funny even a bit. A graduate friend of mine once told me that her job was searching for a job. You get that? In short, she had spent so much time searching for a job  that the task of job hunting was now a job itself. Albeit with no pay, I guess now you get it. My fear is to fall in that category when it comes to dream chasing. Continue reading
